My Life Would Suck Without You (Part I)

For the past few weeks, I have been receiving informal tennis lessons from my friends. Guess it is always good to have an alternative sports on top of my running. Hence, I got into the act of arranging my friend cum coach along with a few of us to start my new leisure pursuit.

In the first lesson, my coach friend introduced us to the basics of the game including the different grips. As the forehand is one of the fundamental shots in the game, we have been focusing on it during the past practice sessions. My biggest issue is that I have not master the basic forehand fully and following through. The other problems include the inability to anticipate the position of the ball and a lack of hand-to-eye-coordination.

Other than practical exercises, my coach friend has suggested that we should watch tennis videos for a better grasp of the game such as: http://www.monkeysee.com/play/1012-tennis-for-beginners-introduction.

Interestingly, I have found a useful video that might address one of my tennis issues at: http://www.videojug.com/film/hand-to-eye-coordination. Would you like to partner with me for this coordination exercise?
