My Life Would Suck Without You (Part II)

Was looking forward to tennis with my friend today. For some reason, he missed the booking after I reminded him a few times...

Naturally, I was not on cloud nine. After some exchange of words, he suggested that I sought alternative tennis court. My point is that why do people procrastinate? For me, I always put off to improve myself, learn new things, buy a bike and the list goes on...

Now, what can one do about it? Interestingly, an article discusses procrastination in both good and bad light saying the main reason people find it difficult not to procrastinate is that they don't enjoy doing the something. While I agree, I can't help thinking why one cannot feedback to the other person candidly, if it is not work-related? I am sure all things could be resolved if one puts across his honest views without sounding offensive. I hope I am not idealistic...

My Life Would Suck Without You (Part I)

For the past few weeks, I have been receiving informal tennis lessons from my friends. Guess it is always good to have an alternative sports on top of my running. Hence, I got into the act of arranging my friend cum coach along with a few of us to start my new leisure pursuit.

In the first lesson, my coach friend introduced us to the basics of the game including the different grips. As the forehand is one of the fundamental shots in the game, we have been focusing on it during the past practice sessions. My biggest issue is that I have not master the basic forehand fully and following through. The other problems include the inability to anticipate the position of the ball and a lack of hand-to-eye-coordination.

Other than practical exercises, my coach friend has suggested that we should watch tennis videos for a better grasp of the game such as: http://www.monkeysee.com/play/1012-tennis-for-beginners-introduction.

Interestingly, I have found a useful video that might address one of my tennis issues at: http://www.videojug.com/film/hand-to-eye-coordination. Would you like to partner with me for this coordination exercise?
