I Can Do Better

Exactly one week into Brazil Grand Prix next Sunday! For some reasons, my head says Hamilton will win the drivers championship, but my heart is inclined towards Massa (being an anti-Hamilton fan).

According to F1-live site, it has made the following prediction:

Hamilton will be world champion if:
- He wins
- He finishes second
- He finishes third
- He finishes fourth
- He finishes fifth
- He finishes sixth and Massa is second or lower
- He finishes seventh and Massa is second or lower
- He finishes eighth and Massa is third or lower
- He fails to score and Massa is third or lower.

Massa will be world champion if:
- He wins and Hamilton finishes sixth or lower
- He finishes second and Hamilton is eighth or lower.

Now who would you put your money on?

My Humps

Was caught in a massive jam for more than two hours on a bus to office this morning!! And this was not the first time. Honestly, I find time could be put to better use if one could commute to work/school in a fuss-free manner. Arrgh...

Now you may ask me what I could do to improve the situation in retrospect? Well, I could do:

1) Apply for emergency leave
2) Enjoy a hearty breakfast, and do 1) or sneak into office later
3) Visit a doctor/dentist
4) Pretend today is a Saturday and don't show up at work
5) Get a cab, if you can wrestle with 10 people ahead of you
6) Continue to enjoy the scenery on the bus and turn up at work only after lunch
7) Go to library and turn up at the office later on the pretence that you have done some research on your work
8) Have a good laugh at yourself and review the best option to adopt

For some reasons, it makes me feel happy when I continue with the options. What's your excuse?

I'll Be There For You

Caught Formula One (F1) Chinese Grand Prix on television with my friends this afternoon. I have to concur that teamwork counts at the critical moment. Especially when it makes a difference to both drivers and constructors championship standings in this penultimate race.

Near to the end of the race. Massa from Ferrari overtook Kimi to take the second position, compliments by his team-mate. Above all, the act was even sweeter when it was done on a mutual basis, not influenced by the team. Some may disagree that it is orchestrated by their team, but I choose to take it with the benefit of a doubt.

In this very competitive environment, it is good to see individuals working together in the interests of the team. Of course, everyone aspires to be the champion or lead the pack. My point is we can achieve more when we put aside our personal achievements, depending on the situation.

Simple Things

Had a tiff with a friend over something quite trivial yesterday. And it affected my mood for the day! Come to think of it, why do people including myself get upset over something insignificant? Is it my emotional factor at work or just a lack of bigger things in life to do?

In the evening, we sat together and mulled over the above questions. In part, I realize I do not have an aim in life to start with. And it did not help when my current concern in life is more on a social level. Perhaps I should re-evaluate my life and do something worthwhile. Following are some plans I have in mind (not in order of importance):

1) Travel round the world
2) Upgrade myself for a teaching career (as part of my retirement plan)
3) Buy a house
4) Do some investments
5) Volunteer overseas
6) Pick up an useful language like Japanese
7) Gather knowledge
8) Learn to cook to keep myself satisfied always:)

Hopefully, I would make my life more meaningful and happy*.

*PS: Fuelled by wrath, I headed for a run. My happiness was extended when I finally achieved under 12 minutes for my 2 km lap. Yeah:)

Something Right

Decide to do something right for myself starting from today! Especially after an uplifting performance from my F1 idol, Kimi Raikkonen:)

Finally, he has finished the F1 race at Fuji, Japan successfully walking tall in the third spot!! Alonso came in first taking the the chequered flag, while Kubica took the second spot. Kimi pushed hard for Ferrari after losing ground on the opening lap courtesy of Hamilton. Towards the finish, he attempted several passes on Kubica for second position, but could never complete the manoeuvre.

Still, he managed to salvage the situation by helping Ferrari to regain the lead in the constructors’ championship with Hamilton finishing out of the points and Heikki Kovalainen’s McLaren failing. Once again, it proves that if you have what it takes, it is a matter of time before you bounce back in glory.

As for me, I went for a run with my friends today as part of our training to Standard Chartered Marathon in December. This time, I would set my teeth and go far out to my best abilities. Consequently, I did more mileage than my friends and it made me feel good:)

PS: Apologies for the hiatus due to heartbreaking F1 outcome in Singapore Grand Prix for my idol...
